2010 was my 8th year making the trip to DC to remember and honor all the men and women in law enforcement that made the intimate sacrifice. After getting back home and after thinking about the trip, it was clear to see that peddling my bicycle the 300 miles was the easy part. The hard part of the trip was done by everyone behind the scenes, so to all those people I say THANK YOU. Thank you to, Beth and Brian in the lead vehicle for getting us from Hanover to DC safely. Thank you to all the motors for the escort and keeping us safe from all the other traffic. Thank you to the break team for keeping us well fed and hydrated along the way. Thank you to the hotel team for getting all our stuff from place to place and getting us our room keys quickly. Thank you to the guys in the repair trailer for fixing all the bikes incredibly fast (mine included thanks to 2 flats.)
Thank you to all the others involved that didn’t fall into any of the above listed areas. Thanks to Pat and Harry for having an idea and making the dream come true. Thank you to my beautiful wife Valarie and my step daughter Ashley for the surprise visit at Albert’s it meant a lot to me to have you both there. Thank you to the family of Officer Richard Crittenden Sr. of North Saint Paul PD for sharing with me the memory of their lost loved one. Above all, thank you to all the members of the Police Unity Tour for making this trip a successful one. Raising 1.1 million dollars for the memorial was an incredible achievement and one we should all be very proud of. I hope to see you all next year so we can do it all over again.
Be well and stay safe

What a proud moment it was riding strong into DC this year with an awesome group of riders, support staff and motors that do this for all the right reasons. It is about the mission and when riding got tough, I looked around and found everyone struggling with the wind, struggling with the rain and struggling with the emotions of riding for our fallen friends and fellow officers. We brought them all home and made sure that they will never be forgotten. It was a priviledge riding with you all and Wisconsin can't wait to be back with you all again next year!

Motors without you we could not do this safely. Repair team thanks for fixing my tire and brakes. To the public thanks for understanding. Another Unity Tour is in the books, and again, it was a wonderful experience, especially meeting and sharing with survivors both during the ride and at the Memorial. Thanks to Pat, Harry, Beth, Deb and all the organizers for the work you do to give the rest of us the opportunity to do this ride. To the survivors, thank you for your sacrifice. It was, and always will be, both humbling and an honor to do this ride in honor of your lost loved one and for you.

Once again we accomplished what we had set out to do. The spirit of 1997 and those "18" lives on in all of you and we continue to grow and make a difference. To all the riders, thank you for staying to the right to allow us on the motors to do our best in protecting you all and getting you to DC safely. To the hotel crew, what can I say, I have new found respect for you guys! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your crew as I rode with you to Annapolis and while I waited for my motor to get repaired. You all are truly a special group that is under appreciated. The Police Unity Tour is my family and I am proud of each and everyone of you! God Bless and to my fellow Motor Officers, keep the rubber side down my friends!

I had no idea what was going on yesterday morning in Tappahannock, Va. Luckily I was the first car at a stoplight when a motorcycle Officer stopped traffic. Then came a surprise, I couldn't believe all the Officers in this motorcade. I lost a good friend in the line of duty and my special niece and her boyfriend, a Richmond Officer, to a drunken boater. This touched my heart more than I can say. Thank you all for all you do to protect us every day. May God bless you richly and keep you safe.

For several years I've got caught in the traffic backup as I switch schools in the middle of the morning. This year I brought my 10 students from my school to work class to the curb at Bohemia Manor High School to cheer you on. The students were so excited by the fact that you were thanking us and running your sirens. We tied it into our lessons on 'company culture'. Thanks for all the work you do to protect us and thanks for the lesson today on unity within a company...aka law enforcement. God Bless you all.

First of all, I'd like to thank all who have participated, either by riding or as support staff. Know that your efforts are truly appreciated, and DO help in the healing process. First I want to thank all who rode in the Unity Tour. My son was killed on 9/14/08 and we were at the memorial when you all arrived. I can't express the emotions and gratitude I have for all of you for how you made me feel that day. A special thanks to Ian Dubac, who rode with my son's name and pictures on his motor, you along with all the others put a piece of my broken heart back in place that day. Ian, you'll always be and have a very special part of my heart. Some one told me while I was at the memorial wall that although I lost my son to look around at all the officers there, they've all become my sons. I love my son more then life itself but I can tell you, I've never been more proud to have so many stand in as my sons as you all, most especially you Ian. Please know how very much I love each and every one of you and always will.
With deepest respect and love,

I was at work Tues May 12th at the Highbridge Bp when I saw the most amazing sight, rows and rows of police officers on motorcycles, in cars, and on bikes going by. Two of these heros stopped into my work and purchased a drink and something to munch on and told us what all these heros were doing and then they were on their way to arrive in D.C. Seeing all the police officers riding by on bikes was amazing and I look forward to seeing them again next year. Hopefully they will all stop in and visit us next year.

I was out for a walk at Lincoln Park, NE Washington DC when the tour came by.. I was impressed with the number of folks riding and how they thanked ME for watching and waving... I said thank you for all you do and God bless. I had never heard of the tour so rushed home to look it up. Your motto is very moving and inspiring. Thank you for turning my thoughts to those who serve in this capacity and gave all.

There are millions of us out here who appreciate what you officers are up against each day. Whenever I pass a policeman on the road who has stopped a car, I say a prayer for his/her safety. You risk your lives to keep us safe and the criminals you place behind bars are set free by the judges before you finish out your shift. Then when funds get tight, first place they cut back is the police dept. Both you and our military are heros, doing the same job of keeping us safe.
Thank you so much.
